He might be young, but DJ Zora the Sultan (aka Saad Zora) has had an eventful year. “There were a lot of festivals over the summer. Evolve was a great time, I got to play for like, 1,000 people. And there was Skratch Bastid’s BBQ, which was really cool.” He feels honoured by this award, and it only makes him want to keep learning. “I’m on the B-boy tip right now, so I’ve been listening to a lot of old school funk, like breaks by Aretha Franklin, Rocksteady, James Brown, Curtis Mayfield, but also scratching and developing my skills.”
