Halifax is #blessed with its indie bookstores, the silver and bronze Best of winners being gold-standard in their niches: Doull the legend in used titles, Woozles for kidlit, from picture books to angsty teen fantasies parents want to borrow. But Bookmark is the champion, adding the 2014 gold plaque to its collection of BOH hardware. This year, however, is special because Bookmark has new owners, Dan and Marlene MacDonald. The MacDonalds bought Halifax’s Bookmark and its Charlottetown older sibling from the estate of founder Rodney Jones, and their wise plan is to keep things running as usual. #Dontmesswithsuccess
