One of the main reasons the Anchor City Rollers (the sports league formerly known as the Halifax Roller Derby Association) is a repeat winner in this category is because they scare the shit out of their competition. And maybe the voters, too. These badass, punnily named athletes have made a name for themselves over the past four years, growing their league to include two travelling teams and over 100 skaters, refs and keen volunteers. With a regular season from late May into early fall, the Rollers are currently practicing and recruiting for 2015. Could you be the next Skate Hittleton?
