“I’m a true blue cab driver, buddy,” says Jim Currie when we call to ask why people voted him Best. Currie’s been in the business 32 years, driving for Yellow Cab for the first 15 years, then starting his own operation, Tours by Towncar, which operates primarily in the old county areas and the airport. Starting with just one car, he now has eight drivers, and has a fleet of town cars, vans and a stretch limousine. His drivers, he assures, are “well-dressed professionals,” and, if you swing that way, you can request “a kilted driver.”
