Long Lake is a body of water capable of converting the most staunch ocean lovers into lake swimmers. Thanks for providing a refreshment from the highest of Humidexes, for giving so many adorable pups a place to practice their doggie paddles and for hosting so many summer picnics. Most of all thanks for living up to your name, and being long enough to allow all of Halifax to go for a dip without having to share sunbathing space, that is, unless they want to. Special props go the CGC pool’s insane labyrinth of water slides that gave the lakes a run for their money this year.
