Is it just me or does it seem like the snowball effect has taken hold of the Jazz Festival? It manages to pick up speed every year to become a bigger, better and more diverse version of itself. Last summer brought the likes of A Tribe Called Red, The Wailers, Dr. John, Lee Konitz and Lee Fields & The Expressions to the Halifax waterfront and JazzEast’s artistic director, Lulu Healy, teases, “We just confirmed out first headliner for next July and can't wait to share the excitement with you all!” Healy and the peeps at Jazz Fest thank the board of directors, volunteers, musicians and fans for helping to make it the gold-worthy event that it is. And we do, too.
