Editor's note: With its latest Best Home Accessories Store win in 2010, Attica Furnishings was elevated to the Best of Halifax Hall of Fame.
It’s no secret that the fortunes of Barrington Street fluctuate, but whatever seems to happen with the other businesses, Attica maintains a steadfast hold on the imaginations and enthusiasm of its clientele, offering high-end, quality furniture and home accessories, spread over four floors in its lovely downtown building. In fact, its regular victory in the Home Accessories category of Best of Halifax has earned the business entry into our Hall of Fame. Congratulations, Attica! “With Chris [Joyce] and I being artists, we’re trying to be artful in what we select. We aren’t trying to be mainstream in what we do. We don’t go for one look. In Toronto you could have a store that caters to a very small segment, but here, we want to be everything to everybody. We want to satisfy different looks and content in a contemporary context. We’re not following any trends. Hopefully we’ve been setting them.” —-Suzanne Saul, co-owner, on the inspiration behind what Attica has to offer its customers.
Editor's note: This year we elevate the Barrington Street home furnishing masters Attica, 1566 Barrington Street, to The Coast’s Best of Halifax Hall of Fame in the category of Best Home Accessories Store.
