Chef Craig Flinn said as much when he accepted this award on behalf of his popular Barrington Street restaurant: we all need to be thinking about sourcing our food locally, even when we go out to eat. A subscriber to the slow food movement, a regular at the Farmers' Market and a frequenter of Annapolis Valley food producers to pick up ingredients, Flinn knows that for reasons of both good health and ecology, local is the way to go. Not to mention that people can tell the difference between the freshest organic and close-to organic ingredients and those shipped in from out of province.
