Best Live Music Venue

The Marquee Club

Last year the grim reaper came to town, slashing his closing scythe all willy-nilly through the city’s live music venues. North End Pub and Diner? So not cool, buddy. That put a lot of pressure on the remaining bars and venues, but they did a mighty fine job keeping the music alive, especially the Marquee. Besides giving you a reason to call in sick every Thursday thanks to their mid-week dance party, there was Afrika Baabaataa, an Eric’s Trip reunion and Chromeo, to name a few. The Marquee hosted film-fest parties and burlesque shows, film shoots and internet talk shows. And the pizza’s back.

First runner up: Gus' Pub

Second runner up: The Seahorse Tavern
