Best Professor

Duncan MacIntosh

MacIntosh has a schedule crammed with courses---including introduction to philosophy, a 3rd year history of 20th century philosophy as well as an Advanced 4th year graduate program exploring his own work---and he’s earned the appreciation of his students in discussions of the rational and irrational, our duties as “rational beings and moral beings” and the struggles between these issues and simply living as a human being. “Philosophy is popular,” he says. “People have a hunger for big issues in their lives…I try to make it come off the page.”

First runner up: Peter March, Saint Mary's University

Second runner up: Charlotte Loppie, Dalhousie University
