Vesuvius is a volcano near the Bay of Naples in Italy. In 79 AD it blew up and buried the towns of Herculaneum and Pompeii. In Halifax, Vesuvius is an amazing sandwich made at the Italian Market with calabrise salami, olive paste, Dijon and provolone. Angela is a sous chef at the Italian Market and she sings the praises of the staff. “Anyone can make a good sandwich,” she says, “but here they really are made with love and caring. We don’t put out a shoddy product.”
