South end versus north end is our version of the east coast/west coast rivalry. True, the battle for Halifax is not nearly as famous, but it’s just as fierce; more people vote on this category than almost any other. While the rappers duke it out for hip-hop supremacy, ours is more of a campaign for cool. What are the criteria exactly? Taller trees? Better bars? Cheaper rents? Not sure, but this category’s the big one, and this year, the south end takes it.
