Coast readers say Dave does it right, as Wendy’s on Quinpool takes over first place from last year’s winner, Harvey’s. There’s nothing in particular to make this Wendy’s outlet different from any other, so the secret to success is either its location (students from two high schools spend their lunch money there, and the population of Quinpool Towers probably doesn’t hurt) or Dave’s original recipe for the Classic Single with a sandwich bun holding a square patty topped with light mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, dill pickles, onion, tomato and lettuce for 410 calories, 37 grams of carbohydrate and 19 grams of fat.
