Lesley Choyce

The infamous surf poet wins your vote again for top honours in the best author category. Having published upwards of 60 books (Sea of Tranquility, Coasts of Canada, Cold Clear Morning to name just a few) on such diverse subjects as the environment, racism and surfing, founded Pottersfield Press and filmed The Skunk Whisperer, he has forged an unmatched reputation in this city. Lesley Choyce’s impact has been felt from his youth-oriented work—which is in regular use in the local school system—to his fiction, which appeals to a more discerning crowd.

1st runner-up: Donna Morrissey

2nd runner-up: Sue Goyette
