This category’s been back and forth between Anne Derrick and Joel Pink—the province’s highest-profile lawyers—since the poll’s inception, but 2002 was one of Derrick’s most visible years yet. Along with colleague Rocky Jones, Derrick was on the losing end of a record $240,000 defamation suit brought against the pair by a Halifax police officer. That decision was overturned just last week.
