The race to serve up the best plate of pasta was a close one, with East Side Mario’s just knocking out Best Italian restaurant Il Mercato. “It is what we specialize in,” says Mario’s assistant general manager Dean Blair. Indeed, Mario’s pasta is consistent, and it doesn’t hurt that the portions are huge and accompanied by the Best Caesar Salad.
