Much has been made of the Economy Shoe Shop being the “culture dome,” where artists, actors and writers gather to discuss lofty ideas like existentialism and arts funding. But what’s really going on there? Lots of people eating lots of the city’s Best Mussels, that’s what. The Shoe’s mussels come in Thai-style green curry and coconut milk or, for the faint-of-tastebuds, a tomato-herb broth. Either way, they make for big bowl of shellfish love.
