Hey Rosetta! yells at you real loud

The Newfie indie-rock band gives us some salty goodness.

It's a low-key day for Hey Rosetta! frontman Tim Baker, as he's pouring himself some cereal and recovering from laser eye surgery when we catch up with him over the phone. The lead vocalist for the Newfie pop-rock band is hanging out on the Rock for a much-needed break, after Hey Rosetta!'s tour around California (playing the NHL Hockey Awards show in Las Vegas) and a show on Parliament Hill for the Queen on Canada Day, all while recording a new CD in Halifax. "I want it to be out tomorrow," says Baker of the album. "The songs are done, we got them out no fuss and we want people to hear them, but they're still sort of somewhat fresh to us." Baker adds that everything but the recording and mixing has yet to be done, and isn't sure when Hey Rosetta! members Adam Hogan, Josh Ward, Phil Maloney, Erin Aurich and Romesh Thavanathan and himself will be finishing it up. Until then, be sure to breathe in the band's salty goodness at its only Halifax show this weekend, before kicking off one hell of a tour with Hot Hot Heat.
