Not merely content with a single music and art bonanza for their seventh year, Team OBEY has branched out like so many spring buds and created an entirely separate festival of visual art: Art In Fest. Art In Fest will accompany the OBEY Convention—"Atlantic Canada's only festival of alternate realities for music and art"—this May 22-25.

On the music side, OBEY has announced early headliners Duluth's indie stars Low, master of the art of looping Julianna Barwick, world's most perfect human Jef Barbara, Norwegian composer Maja Ratjke and trippy lo-fi act White Poppy. Twenty-five more acts will be announced March 27.

Art In Fest begins May 20 at galleries and alternative spaces across Halifax and runs in tandem to OBEY. More details to be announced March 27. In all, expect a magical five days of art and music, over half of the events will be free and open to all ages. Early bird passes are available here.
