Film fans take note: the 32nd Atlantic Film Festival line up has been announced, giving you under a month to create your elaborate spreadsheets for optimum viewing capability (shuffling briskly from Mike Birbiglia’s Sleepwalk With Me to Seth Smith’s Lowlife, for instance).
Running September 13-20, the fest kicks off with an opening gala screening of Ken Loach’s The Angel’s Share, and the galas keep coming, including the Atlantic gala screening of Shandi Mitchell’s The Disappeared. Telefilm’s gala features Deepa Metha’s Midnight’s Children and The CBC Atlantic Shorts gala offers 11 shorts, featuring works by Andrea Dorfman, Mike Clattenburg, Gwyneth Christoffel, Anne-Renee Dumont, Andrew Hines and Glen Matthews among others. The closing gala is Scandanavian period piece A Royal Affair by Nikolaj Arcel. For full schedule and ticket information see www.atlanticfilm.com.
