So Rick White and the Superfantastics walk into a schoolhouse...

To record their next album!

As we speak, the Superfantastics are in Rick White's home studio in Elder, Ontario (recording home of Dog Day's Elder Schoolhouse LP) making some sweet music. How will the Superfantastic's sunny pop sensibilities match up with White's dark, ethereal tendencies? Pretty well, it appears. "So far, these recordings are exactly what i always thought the Superfantastics SHOULD sound like, though I'm proud of our other recordings, I feel like Rick's direction is really working," says Stephanie Clattenburg (drums).

"We have never worked with a producer before, so for the new album we were looking forward to the experience. Our friend Peter Rowan suggested Rick White, and of course we were excited at the idea because Rick's work is amazing. However, we weren't sure if it would be possible because he lives in Ontario, or if he would even be interested in working with us. But it lined up perfectly! He doesn't produce and engineer many records so the fact that he wanted to work with us was taken as a huge compliment."

The Superfantastics plan to release this full length album in the spring, and promote it with a tour of the UK and Canada. They have even been talking to some labels, and while nothing is certain yet, this new album may mark the Superfantastics' first label release.

"Rick definitely is amazing at thinking outside the box," says Clattenburg. "He is very creative with sounds and early in the process he likes to focus on the vibe and feeling of the song more than perfecting the performance."
