AGNS closed from water damage

No artwork harmed as the gallery assesses the mess.

Apparently the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is closed until further notice due to ground water damage. According to a press release, Ground water has entered the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and due to repair work and cleaning the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia will be closed until further notice. The water damage situation is currently being assessed. The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia website, www.artgalleryofnovascotia.ca will be updated with the most current information about the on-going situation and the AGNS will re-open as soon as possible.

No artwork was damaged by this water seeping issue and artwork has been removed from the seeping areas in adjacent Gallery spaces. The AGNS continues to work with Transportation, Infrastructure Renewal to solve this problem and have the Gallery re-open as soon as possible.

Yikes. I'm sure a lot of people are thinking about Fredericton's Gallery Connexion which still hasn't found a new home since it was flooded last fall. Right now they're hosting exhibitions at the Beaverbrook.
