Jewellery designer and artist Catherine Sutherland is launching her line of "Bustop Jewellery" tonight at Hydrostone Gallery (5519 Young) from 7-9pm. Sutherland casts pieces of actual bus shelter glass into gorgeous sterling silver rings, pendants, bracelets, charms and necklaces. Once I accidentally kicked in a wall of a bus shelter glass demonstrating my not-so-high kicks. I was so mesmerized by those pale glittering green chunks I forgot to run. I'm glad someone found a spectacular use for messes left by idiots like me.
