Thom Swift

Posted By on Thu, Jan 24, 2008 at 4:21 PM

One mighty shout-out is due to Thom Swift, who won the Canadian Maple Blues Award for new artist of the year. Swift also took the Galaxie Rising Stars CBC Award at the same time, for his debut album Into the Dirt, also nominated for an ECMA this year. You might remember Swift from his band Hot Toddy (They opened for Dolly Parton!), or you might know him from his frequent yard sales, which are no doubt needed, to clear space for his numerous music awards (yes, that was a stretch). Swift is playing February 2 at the In the Dead of Winter Festival and----unlike the supreme disappointment of the IDOW Hayden concert being sold out----tickets are available.
