If you’ve spent time daydreaming about spending your days with a breathtaking Icelandic backdrop, wishing Jón Gnarr was our mayor or drooling over the fashionable people of Reykjavík we’ve got good news for you.
Apparently Halifax and Iceland aren’t so different, which is why Cintamani has chosen Halifax as the second North American location to carry its outdoor clothing line.
“Halifax and Iceland have similar weather,” says manager and CEO of Cintamani Canada, Matthildur Baldursdottir. “If you're not happy with the weather wait 10 minutes.”
All too familiar, don’t you think? Cintamani—which sells across Iceland and Europe—landed in Fredericton last year and is set to open in the former Mise Au Green at 5507 Spring Garden Road on August 31. Baldursdottir, who moved to Halifax to set up shop, says the reasonably-priced, high quality duds (which are tested in Iceland) will keep you “warm, dry, happy and looking great.”
At a time when the city needs local coverage more than ever, we’re asking for your help to support independent journalism. We are committed as always to providing free access to readers, particularly as we confront the impact of COVID-19 in Halifax and beyond.
