The Halifax location of the pooches paradise for grooming and treat-buying Tailwagrrrs (6021 Cunard Street, 422-9364) will be taking on a new name in March. Though most of the reasons dog owners know and love the shop will stay the same (two of its groomers will be sticking around) it’ll re-open as Down Home Dog, Grooming & Canine Comforts. Groomer, pet portrait artist and former manager of Bark & Fitz (formerly of 5431 Doyle Street), Jennifer Sinclair will take over with business partner Jane Verge, the dog-lover behind Happy Hounds Doggy Daycare (3092 Barrington, 429-1342). Down Home is set to start its grooming and self-serve dog wash on March 2, but will spruce up the space before bringing in the retail component. Watch for the grand opening in a month’s time.
