Argyle Fine Art to move

Waterfront gallery coy about where, but it's soon

Shoptalk has learned that Argyle Fine Art (1869 Upper Water Street, 425-9456) is moving from its Historic Properties locale. It started on Argyle Street---as owner Adriana Afford reminded us, hence the name---though it's been down on Upper Water for eight years. "The decision was not made lightly however the city is changing, especially this part of the city, and we decided at the end of our lease that it was time to make a change," is the reason Afford gave for the move.

Where Argyle Fine Art is headed has yet to be revealed, but it will be in "downtown Halifax" and it will be "amazing!" The gallery closes at the end of December and reopening in the new location mid-January, with a new show called Pre-Shrunk opening there January 28.

In the meantime, Argyle Fine Art is having a moving sale. You'll find key items 25 percent to 75 percent off the regular price, and everything at the gallery is 15 percent off with a more than $50 purchase along with a food donation for Feed Nova Scotia.
