The circus comes to town

Posted By on Mon, Dec 7, 2009 at 4:00 AM

Wanna run away and join the circus? Most of us have at one point or another. If you do, you’re going to need some prep. Halifax Circus will be offering professional circus classes from January 16, 2010, including Beginning Balance, Intro to Circus and Aerial Basics, and to three age groups, including 18+. Classes will feature stilts, tightrope, the rolling globe, and unicycles, silks, circeau (ring), trapeze, juggling, flower sticks, cigar boxes, and diabolos. (If you don’t know what all those are, what better excuse to sign up and find out?) Classes take place at St. Matthew’s United Church Gym (1479 Barrington Street). Call 830-9099 or visit halifaxcircus.com for more information.
