Topiary to Close

Posted By on Fri, Mar 20, 2009 at 4:00 AM

The good people of the north end have had five years to purchase the finest home, garden and cottage stuff at a Hydrostone Market store called Topiary (5513 Young, 446-4483), but, sadly, it's closing April 5. "If we're around a few days after that, it's OK," says proprietor Greg Morris, who runs the place with D'Arcy Morris-Poultney. They would like to spend more time with family and with the lease expiring, this seemed like the best time to go. "We have a great staff, but we're open seven days a week. We want our weekends," says Morris. Look for 50-70 percent off items in the store until it closes.

Survey Asks

Should council use the yet-to-be-finalized Centre Plan when debating new developments?

  • No, it doesn’t exist yet and is still likely to change
  • Yes, thousands of hours of work and consultation have gone into what’s already assembled
  • Maybe, it really depends on what’s being proposed by the developer
  • I don’t know what the Centre Plan is and do not wish to participate in this poll
