Norman Flynn Lights Up

Posted By on Fri, Mar 20, 2009 at 4:00 AM

Known for three things, its broad selection of paint, its gorgeous collection of interior lighting fixtures and its full scale renovation and interior design services, Norman Flynn Design (2698 Agricola, 420-0736) is stepping away from the paint to focus on the other two. "We are a European lighting boutique, and the lighting part of the business is doing really well," says showroom manager and junior designer Mairead Fegan. With that in mind, the lighting fixture showroom is expanding into the paint swatch portion of the store, with all the Pratt & Lambert paint being sold off to a dealer in Truro. The original showroom will continue to exhibit the best in exquisitely designed pendant fixtures, wall sconces, table and floor lamps, and the extra space will be devoted to more utilitarian fare, including "track lighting, pot lighting, under lighting for cabinets, displays for vanity lighting," lists Fegan. The new showroom should be up and running in the next week or so.

Survey Asks

Should council use the yet-to-be-finalized Centre Plan when debating new developments?

  • No, it doesn’t exist yet and is still likely to change
  • Yes, thousands of hours of work and consultation have gone into what’s already assembled
  • Maybe, it really depends on what’s being proposed by the developer
  • I don’t know what the Centre Plan is and do not wish to participate in this poll
