After four years in business, Foxy Moon (2393 Agricola) is moving on up –the street, that is. Owner Evyeneia Monolakos is in the midst of styling hair by day and painting the new location (2725 Agricola) by night. It’s a good thing she’s got her four-legged friend Tia, a mixed lab, to keep her going.
“Basically I just need a bigger space,” she says. “I’d like to expand and have an aesthetician on site and another stylist, too. Right now it’s just me. I really love this location; the neighbourhood has been so good tom e, incredibly supportive. I’m glad I’m just moving up the street.”
Since early September 2004, Monolakos has been styling locks local and beyond. Her hair salon/gallery has become a fixture on Agricola, as she’s featured work from emerging local artists and shows her own black-and-white photography. Foxy Moon’s specialty is hair design, cuts and colours, though Monolakos is brainstorming ideas for her new backroom space. Perhaps she’ll rent it out to a masseuse.
