Organic Clothing Label

Posted on Wed, Sep 17, 2008 at 10:44 PM

Local designer Laura Chenoweth launches her organic cotton clothing label on September 27 at 1313 Hollis (1313 Hollis) from noon to 5:00PM.

"My emerging business consists of clothes locally designed here in Halifax," says Chenoweth. "The tailoring production is being done by a group of artisans in India. All of the clothing is made with certified organic cotton and non-toxic dyes. The styles are practical and hip, with my price point being more mainstream than high-end."

Currently the local designer works out of her office space at Creative Crossings (2526 Argicola), though she has yet to solidify any retailers in town to carry her line.

"My main vision is to wholesale the line, but the launch is an initial kick-off to get some attention about the label."

Until everything gets up and running its best to contact the designer directly via her website Laura Chenoweth or at 405-881.
