Long Live the Queen!

Posted on Sat, Jul 26, 2008 at 1:19 PM

All good things come to an end; this saying rang true earlier this month when Dartmouth's beloved Queen of Cups Restaurant (44 Ochterloney) closed its doors. After 9 years of serving delectable dishes and desserts owner Shelley Goodson made the painful decision to shut down. The good news is the Queen of Cups Too Café (55 Portland), located nearly two blocks from the original location, will still bespinning saucers.

"Many of the good things you have liked to eat and drink at the Queen of Cups Restaurant will still be available at our café," says Goodson. "We are open from Monday to Friday from 7:30 to 4:30pm. In the autumn if we find that demand is there, we will seriously considering opening the café on Saturdays. We'd like to continue to cater to our many customers who used to make a special trip for their favourite bread pudding or salmon cakes on the weekend."
