Susie Opens Up Her Cupcake Shop

Posted on Fri, Jul 11, 2008 at 10:32 AM

One of the many charms of visiting major metropolis locations such as Toronto, Vancouver, or Montreal are the specialty shops. Downtown Halifax just got a little sweeter, as Susie's Shortbreads plans to open a storefront location (1589 Dresden Row) in August. The official opening announcement may still be under wraps, but the menu promises 15 shortbread flavours, nearly 40 flavours of cupcake, old fashioned milkshakes, coffee and tea all found within a retro décor and maltshop-inspired atmosphere.

"There is sure to be something for everyone," says owner TJ Peach. "Susie's continues to cater to weddings, corporate events and special occasion parties. But soon every day can be a reason to celebrate and treat yourself to a cupcake, coffee or old fashioned milkshake." In the meantime Susie's Shortbreads can be found every Saturday at the Halifax Farmer's Market from 7 – 1PM.
