Trendy, trendy Agricola

Posted on Fri, Jul 4, 2008 at 8:24 AM

Montreal-based Raphael and Steinberg Construction, owned and operated by Adam Steinberg and Doug Raphael, have gravitated towards Agricola and McCully Street for the future site of McCully Worklofts; a 55,000 square foot, five storey office and retail suite.

“This area is experiencing an urban renaissance and developing a very distinct neighborhood identity,” says Raphael, vice president. “The building will sit as a proud jewel and create a landmark for the district.”

Press releases have the ability to make everything sound appealing, alluring and appropriate. Earlier last week one arrived on my digital desk boasting that Halifax would soon become home to a boutique and retail condominium development –stating this was a unique opportunity for business owners to purchase workspace in “one of the city’s trendiest areas.” In fact the word trendy was used less than throughout the release.

“Our market research demonstrated that there were a significant number of smaller businesses and professionals who were interested in purchasing their premises but were unable to find appropriate space on the peninsula,” says Raphael, vice president. “The office ownership concept has been popular in the United States for over twenty years and is a growing trend in Canada.” Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2009 and McCully Worklofts should be looking their trendiest by 2010.
