A little more about Doraku and Suzuki

Some clarity on the name change

Posted By on Thu, Sep 1, 2011 at 2:27 PM

It has come to The Feed's attention that further elucidation of our Doraku becomes Suzuki story of last week is required.

Shuji Manabe and his wife Misao are the owners of Ko-Doraku (Spring Garden Place, 5640 Spring Garden Road, 423-8787) and were the former owners of Doraku Japanese Cuisine, the Japanese restaurant now known as Suzuki Restaurant (1579 Dresden Row, 425-8888).

As Yoshi Suzuki has further explained, the Manabes were loaning to his family the name Doraku since the Suzukis purchased the business four years ago, and it was the Manabes who suggested a name-change might be a good idea so to limit confusion between the restaurants.

If there was any misunderstanding due to our original story's lack of detail, The Coast apologizes for it.
