Music, magic and a movie, Halifax’s newest European style cafe,
Ray’s Haus European Cafe and Bistro (5599 Fenwick Street, 405-8303) is opening their türen with a “meet your neighbours” block party on Sunday, May 15.
Ray’s is aiming to become one of the better all-ages venues for local artists of any background. Poets, musicians, actors and painters alike are welcome to come in and perform.
On the day, live music will get the ball rolling, featuring the song stylings of
Jackson Jah. From there, party-goers will be treated to the illusionary work of local magician
Rosemary Reid. Recently, Reid was awarded the honour of Dalhousie’s most talented student at this year’s Dalhousie’s Got Talent competition.
If you miss the live music and magic show, don’t fret; a showing of
The Sound of Music will play at dusk featuring a one-of-a-kind light show. The party starts at noon and runs til close.
