The Last Potini

Season's Bistro change up long-running Friday afternoon treat

Posted By on Fri, Nov 26, 2010 at 3:05 PM

Things are changing at popular hotel bar and restaurant Season's Bistro, found at the corner of Robie and Quinpool in the Atlantica Hotel (1980 Robie Street, 490-3331). For years on Friday evenings they'd offer a gratis potato bar with their drink specials, which consisted of mashed potatoes served in a martini glass along with garnishes (bacon bits, gravy, cheese and more).

We're sad to report that today, Friday November 26, is the final day for the potini. "It was a decision made by the hotel management and the chef," reports a source at Seasons.

The good news is the free appetizers will continue to be offered to customers from 5-6pm on Fridays at Seasons, but there'll be more variety to the fare. Recent appies have included pogos and BBQ treats. But for those who loved the potini, we recommend you go regularly and ask for the beloved tradition of potatoes in a martini glass to be reinstated.
