Cyclists in Shubie

Not a Bitch but an apology to the couple riding in Shubie on Saturday afternoon. My daughter wiped out as we met you on a blind corner. I was rude to you and I had no reason to be, nor excuse. I’m sorry. I hope my behaviour didn’t detract from your ride on what was a beautiful day in the park.
—Sincerely

I am so sorry!

I dented your car last night.  I wanted to leave a note but had nothing on me to write with/on. Tobin Street. Black Toyota I think? Comment if this is you. —I’m Really Not That Much Of A Jerk

Sleepy bus rider

Posted By on Sun, Oct 8, 2017 at 9:30 AM

To the guy on the bus that that was sleeping, sorry for waking you up. You were sleeping for the last 10 stops though! I just didn't want you to miss your stop. I hope you can forgive me and I hope you make it home soon so you can finish your nap. —Trying Too Hard to be Helpful

Missed Collision

Posted By on Tue, Aug 22, 2017 at 12:00 PM

To the driver of the black car that almost hit me on August 19 around midnight. I might have overreacted. True, you almost hit me but I was also wearing all black with my hood up in the rain. Not very easy to see. so sorry cursed you out! —Hard To See

Sorry, little lady

Posted By on Wed, Jul 5, 2017 at 12:00 PM

To the little blonde at the Common who told me to have a happy Canada Day, who I gave a grave look to, who responded with a look of shock, maybe dread even...

I'm sick, just wanted some fireworks footage, was miserable among everyone there and right before you said that, I thought "I can't get along with anyone,” which was then proven.

You didn't do anything wrong. I’m an asshole. —Piece of gutter shit

I'm sorry!

Posted By on Wed, Jun 7, 2017 at 12:09 PM

To the blind woman on Gottingen Street Monday night:

You were trying to cross at the light at Cornwallis and the beeper was broken so you couldn't tell if you could go or not. I watched you tentatively step out into the street just as my light was about to turn green. I tried to get your attention but you couldn't hear me so I gave you a little honk which just scared the hell out of you and you stepped backwards and almost fell over the curb. I am so sorry for scaring you! You looked terrified and must have thought I was just some asshole. I swear I was just trying to help and make sure you wouldn't get hit by a car. It's hard enough to navigate Halifax crosswalks without being blind.

Should I have just let you cross at a red? Should I have gotten out of my car and helped you cross the street or would that be rude to assume that you needed help? What's the right thing to do here? —I think I’m the bitch

Coolness interruptus

Posted By on Tue, Apr 4, 2017 at 12:00 PM

To the cute girl in the white rock band t-shirt—pretty sure it was AC/DC or Def Leppard—who I shot tequila with at the bar last week. I'm sorry I was an asshole at the end of the night. No wonder you stormed off! I'd like to make it up to you.  yesiwouldlikeyournumber@gmail.com —That guy

Dear Drivers of HRM

I'm sorry for the disregard of traffic rules and any indecent gesture that may have occurred Friday night on a drunken skateboard excursion. My bad, won't happen again. —A reckless, embarrassed sk8er girl

Ma Chouette

Posted By on Tue, Feb 21, 2017 at 9:00 AM

Hi beautiful, been a long time.  I sort of fell off a cliff when you left.  I applaud you for doing so, it needed doing.  I am slowly starting to climb out of this hole I have dug for myself.  I love you, more than you know.  Not contacting you earlier has been one of the hardest things I've ever done.  I miss you something fierce.  I was bad to you and for you, and for that I am truly sorry.  I hope that in a few weeks when I return, you will let me see you, hold you.

Additionally, I have been saving my loonies for you. –Hug it the bear

I'm sorry that I almost ran you over!

Posted on Mon, Nov 21, 2016 at 12:34 PM

I was driving down Barrington on the way to pick my girlfriend up after her shift late Saturday night when you stepped into the intersection. I almost hit you because the left side of the crosswalk was obstructed by a large truck. I'm very very sorry. You probably saw me hang my head in surprise shame after I couldn't slow down fast enough and had to cruise through the crosswalk. —Another terrible Halifax Driver

Sorry for surliness on a sunny Saturday

I was walking my dogs in Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon. You were getting pictures done after having just gotten married and you wandered over to pat the dogs. I said "Not right now" - one dog was pulling at a scent and the other was pulling away from the crowd of strangers we didn't expect to meet. It wasn't great timing, but there was no need to be as abrupt as I was (to anyone, let alone a friendly bride on her wedding day). Many apologies for being rude and many congratulations to you both. —Clearly not the best man

To the man I gave a snarky, uncalled-for comment to outside of the Lower Deck: I am truly sorry. I was rude and I feel awful about it. Thank you for calling me on my bullshit. —Eating Crow
