Life as we know it

Posted on Mon, Nov 21, 2011 at 11:45 AM

Life is not always easy. Life is not always fair. Too many people undervalue what they are, and overvalue what they’re not. I wish that all feelings of sadness, defeat, anger, fear, worry, loneliness, shame, guilt, regret, and despair could vanish. I wish racism, poverty, injustice, animal cruelty, and war could end. I wish cancer and terminal diseases didn’t exist, and that everybody could smile without hurting inside. I’m sorry for everybody who’s ever lost somebody. I’m sorry if you feel left out sometimes, or if you think your family doesn’t accept the lifestyle you’ve chosen. I’m sorry if you spend most days and nights alone. I wish the world was a happier place, and that people didn’t lie or steal or hurt animals. I wish the world “family” meant more to some people, because at the end of the day, your family members are the ones you come home to. I wish bad things didn’t happen to good people. I wish money wasn’t the root of all evil. I wish drugs and alcohol didn’t destroy lives of individuals whose futures were once so promising. I wish car accidents were only a reminder of life’s blessings, but instead, they take innocent lives and leave others with permanent heartaches. I hope people can always find themselves when they return to a place they’ve been before. I hope you never feel like you aren’t good enough for anyone, instead, ask yourself if they are good enough for you. I hope you never give up on your dreams, or lose faith in yourself and everything you stand for. Tomorrow is a new day. The dreams of the future will be better than the history of the past. Behind every exquisite thing that existed, there was something tragic. —Hopeful
