A Night Out in Halifax

Posted on Wed, Feb 2, 2011 at 4:00 AM

The lady who walks with 2 sticks (she has MS, you know), recently wobbled her way out her front door and went to The Company House for a most amazing concert. Whenever she steps out her front door, she asks herself why she bothers. It takes a huge dose of willpower to make the effort. It is always easier to say "no" and to stay home to rest. But that would be BORING! When she went out, she was met only with kindness: from the staffer who quickly brought her a chair and placed it where she got a good view, to the person who bought her a beer (if her walking was steadier, she would have walked over to say thanks) and the young man at the bus stop who appeared at her elbow and helped over the ice and snow safely to her cab. Thanks guys! —KJ
