I battled the rain and gusty streets of the downtown area on my way to work this morning. With my umbrella thrust against the wind I had almost made it to work, when on Duke street one of the spoke on my umbrella bent, nearly in my face, and everything got very blustery.
A young gentleman who was nearby at the time tried to aid me by lifting the dropping part of the umbrella to keep the rain off. While the attempt couldn't do much against the forces of nature, I was very appreciative at this small act of kindness. It made the rest of my day much sunnier.
So, to the young man with the grey hoodie, glasses, and DeviantArt bag, I thank you. —The girl who needs a new umbrella.
