This year I came down with appendicitis on, of all days, Christmas Eve. I had my surgery on Christmas Day. I was alone in the city, with all my friends gone home for Christmas and my family home in New Brunswick.Thank you so much to all the various departments (ER, ultrasound, CT, general surgery, recovery room) who coordinated to make my ordeal as bearable as possible. You got everything done super-speedy and made sure my pain was well-controlled every step of the way. Special thanks to the two recovery room nurses who noticed I was alone and told me they'd "be my two mothers" since my own mother could not be there. And for going to find my boyfriend who was lost in the hospital. The QEII may not be perfect but they've got some great people working there! Thanks folks :)
