You dressed up as my favorite poet, took me home and told me about your life; the good, the bad, all of it and listened intently as I told you about mine. Those mundane details and the way you held me were exactly what I needed that night.
At another time and in a different place, we'd be together, and I'm sorry for that. It is hard to lose what could have been, but it would have been even harder to risk losing you in my life completely and also shaking up our lives and commitments. I do hope you're well and I wish you love and for it to be beautiful, magnificent and sweet just like you.---J
