The idiots at City Hall are considering having a flat rate property tax so that every property is charged the same amount. Their reasoning is that everyone gets the same service. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.
The mansion built on Young Avenue several years ago has 160 feet of road frontage with 4 lanes of road, two sidewalks and a boulevard, all maintained by HRM crews. Are they trying to tell me that this lot uses the same amount of service as a property in the north end that has only a 33-foot lot frontage? —dan-da-man
