Coffee shops are places of business

I being the coffee lover that I am frequent coffee shops pretty much on a day to day basis and have noticed something lately that irks me- perhaps it shouldn't but it does, more and more people are using coffee shops but not purchasing anything - I think this is just absolutely rude but I also hold the staff responsible for not monitoring and pushing back on this - for example last week I was in this small coffee shop and three girls came in, pushed the last two available tables together, set up their laptops and in the remaining time that I was there, approximately 40 minutes, they did not approach the counter to purchase anything. In that same amount of time I counted 16 people enter the shop---out of those, seven were obviously hoping to purchase and stay but due to no seating they left without buying anything. Honestly people, have some common sense - would you walk into a fine dining establishment and do the same thing? — Perked off
