What's wrong with the above statment - I make a shit load of money by Nova Scotia standards, I have a comfortable and modest home with every energy effecient upgrade reasonable for a home of its age, and I can hardly afford to keep the place heated to 19 degrees for the 8 hours a day I am home. It literally cost me more than 500 in heating fuel and electricity to keep the house warm. This is my first winter in Nova Scotia and I think its going to be my last... my last, much larger and much less insulated house cost almost half as much to heat to 22 degrees. Nova Scotia is sitting on a pile of oil and natural gas, yet we pay the highest fucking rates in the country for these necessities of life. Meanwhile back in ontario (yea im ducking the shit you're all slinging), they pipe in Natural Gas from god knows where for half the price of oil heat... not to mention how much safer and cleaner it is. Why is it so backwards here? Ooooh, we have a natural resource we can use... lets price it through the roof then sell it to the rest of the country. Fuck, what a shit show this place is.
