So, you lost your MP status during the last federal election... I wonder why? What did the people of that riding know that the remainder of HRM doesn't know? I know the city is trying to be environmentally friendly, but some things just aren't worth recycling.... they're just plain garbage. As someone who does pay attention and does read/listen/watch the news, I have to say I was a bit concerned with your questionable affiliations. So before the campaigning even kicked into full gear, admittedly I had a few red flags. Now I hear that, unlike all of the other mayoral contenders, you won't divulge who has contributed to the excessively funded campaign. So apparently the mayor's seat is open to whoever can sponge the most in major dollars out of the (certain) self-interested business community, who are seeing dollar signs, when "their guy" wins, the contracts and special considerations and concessions can't be far behind. While the average citizens gain nothing but the tab for these endeavours that the privileged few business elite can sponge from the taxpayer. All in the guise of doing a "big favour" for the residents who according to this group don't have a clue what's good for them. Truth is this little group of privileged business elite, with their close relationship to the mayor are not good stewards of our taxpaying dollars as history has made evident. What they do seem to excel at is lining their own pockets. I sincerely believe city hall needs some new blood, new ideas, and a fresh perspective to represent the citizens of HRM. The fact that you won't divulge who the contributers to your campaign are, the ones who have allowed your mug to adorn every second billboard in town are, I see a serious red flag. Prove me wrong, but I suspect backroom stick handling is what we the electorate of HRM should get used to for the next couple of years. Apparently you don't have to (by city charter) divulge your contributers until 60 days after the election. Of course by then, your "well heeled elitist buddies" will have you on speed-dial to request you to pay back. Sad that mayoral seat can be bought, and that HRM will be saddled once again. —Future So Bright
