I've been doing the whole online dating thing, and have met some really nice guys. However one of them I should have avoided from the get go, he demanded we meet, acted jealous and nosey when I told him I was busy with other people, demanded to know if I was on other dates then basically told me when and where I was meeting him without even asking if it was okay. I decided to give him the benefit of a doubt and showed up (a bit late but he chose somewhere over a half an hour walk away). Not only could I not understand him due to his accent, he spoke fast and never shut up, he was judgmental of everyone who walked by, making fun of bigger girls, calling people ugly. Well sorry to tell you hunny, you ain't beautiful on the inside or the outside, and when a girl says she's going to meet a friend and has to leave, don't continuously ask her "Really, a friend? You're going to see a friend?" And if the girl is sitting there on her phone and doesn't say anything to you because 1) You never shut up and 2) You don't say anything interesting or ask her questions, and finally 3) You talk so fast with a thick accent it's impossible to understand, get the hint and end the date she's obviously bored and too good natured to end it herself. —Should Have Just Walked Away

I am getting sick and tired of all the vehicles failing to yield to the freaking buses! It became law May 2011, I sat on the Bedford Highway and counted six, yes six vehicles that could and should have yielded when my bus was trying to pull out! —Need Law Enforcement

Today my boyfriend and I went into a dairy bar, one that we've spent quite a bit of money on in the past two months. We weren't dressed the best, as we were just getting off work in the carpentry business, and because of that we were clearly deemed thieves, and asked to stand "right there" in front of the cashier while he served us our ice cream. Of course offended, we walked out without taking our ice cream, after we did our errands we returned to complain, and state the fact that we were good customers for some time now, and that he just lost our business, but with not two words out of our mouths we were asked to leave the store. I then called and asked when the manager was on duty so I could speak to him, he then responded "I am the manager" and hung up. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a business, I am determined that the word gets out about how poorly treated you will be when going into this store. —The Judged

So, yay. Halifax no longer pumps raw untreated sewage into the harbour. Now if HRM will only put permanent public toilets outside around the city like every other civilized city in the world, maybe the drunks staggering home after their beers and donairs will piss in designated places, rather than spraying the downtown core with urine. Or, if you accept your city is a urinal, at least scatter those little fucking mint pucks everywhere so that it doesn't stink so badly. Almost bought lunch downtown. —Almost Lost Lunch Too

I'm confused. I am a local artist at the waterfront and I have been selling my work for a few years now during the summer months. I pay the city for my permit to do so. I spend a lot of money trying to prepare myself and everything. I heard the Tall Ships Festival was happening this summer and I was so excited to be a part of it...come to find out all local artists at the waterfront are being kicked off the boardwalk. Why? It's one of the biggest tourist attractions in the summer. People come from all around to see them and our province. Shouldn't they also see local art instead of stores selling lighthouse keychains or $10 sunglasses made in China? They might as well open up a fast food chain down there too... Why can't Halifax be different than all those towns that just become cheap tourist traps that no one ever returns to? —Angry Artisan

Forty-two minutes and no food. Four other couples served ahead of us and seated after us. I have no idea what the food is like, it looked nice but never got any at our table. Kind of like looking at photos in a recipe book. What a joke, never again. —Not Fed Up

If the road narrows from two lanes to one going in the same direction the person in the left lane is supposed to yield to people in the right hand lane. It's the fucking law. Just because you have a different vehicle with personal plates does not mean you're exempt from the MVA. It applies to everyone. Also stop yakking on the phone. —Sick and Tired of Aggressive Drivers

To you cheap bastards who don't get your cats fixed and let them have free reign of the roads all night: FUCK YOU, SHIT STAINS!! There is nothing more irritating than being woken up a few times, in the middle of the night, to the howling, hissing and growling of some horny bitch cat and her ratty, unfixed males! Some of us have to work in the morning! Keep your fucking cats inside, so YOU can listen to their sonata —You're About to Lose a Cat

What right do people have to think that they can park in a handicapped parking space if they are not physically disabled? Is it for ease of access, running late and have no time to find a spot or just plain laziness? I'm going with the latter. There are people who actually need to use these parking spaces, but thanks to assholes like you, these people must park further away and suffer walking to the doors. Maybe some people should encounter what the elderly or physically challenged have to go through in the run of a day. Show some damn respect.

Now I know that some people have the licence plates or mirror tags that really don't need them, but that's not the point I am trying to make on this one.

And to the ignorant woman who parks nonstop for hours on end in the designated parking spot at my apartment building, you have no right to park there. You only do cause it's "easier." You once wrote a note on my windshield stating that I took your parking space in the underground parking lot (when the spaces were unassigned). Maybe I should leave you a note telling you how lazy you are or maybe just call a tow truck. Your choice... —Tow 'Em All

I usually don't bitch about the bus because it's a waste of time and energy, but what the heck, bus drivers?! For the third time this week, one of you has screwed up the route I'm on or hope to take. I've talked to friends who take the bus and family who rely on the bus and they've all had multiple experiences where you've gone the wrong way over the past month or so. I know mistakes happen, but the frequency lately is just whack and something's not right.

Look at your route maps, drivers, and stick a damn post it on your steering wheel to remind you which bus you're actually driving if you have to! I'm sick of the hold ups and disruptions your ineptitude's causing! —Le Sigh
