Dieters are so boring!

Posted on Mon, Mar 26, 2012 at 1:33 PM

So I'm happy to celebrate your success in losing 10 pounds - hooray, that's a great achievement! Now let's change the subject. No? You want to talk more about how many 'points' are in each food you eat, how many calories you burned walking the dog, and the many many off-limits foods that you are craving. Fine. Let's talk about that for, oh, 10 minutes. Then it gets boring. Really boring. You are no longer able to talk like a human being with multiple complex interests and opinions. No, you have become a dieter, who is only capable of talking about food and weight loss. Forgive me if I no longer want to spend more than an hour with you, who were formerly my closest friend. I just can't take it. My little brother has autism (common symptom is limited range of interests), and even he can change the subject when requested. You? Not anymore. It's diet talk and nothing else. BORING! —Missing Real Conversation
